What to Expect: Complementary Healing Referrals
At Casa Madre Counseling, we offer trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy. In some cases, your clinician may suggest optional referrals to independent, non-clinical, complementary providers (such as somatic, body-based, creative, or spiritual supports) to enhance nervous system regulation and overall wellness. These services are not psychotherapy, medical treatment, or crisis care, and they do not replace your counseling services. Participation is always voluntary, does not affect your access to therapy, and your licensed clinician remains fully responsible for your clinical care. Your privacy is protected, and no information is shared without your written consent.

Complementary & Community-Based Healing Referrals
Amor Latino Counseling may provide clients with referrals to independent, non-clinical practitioners and community-based providers as part of a holistic approach to wellness. These referrals are offered as optional, adjunctive supports and do not replace psychotherapy, medical treatment, or emergency services.
-
Amor Latino Counseling does not share, disclose, or transmit Protected Health Information (PHI) to any referral partner without the client’s explicit, written authorization, in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Clients maintain full control over whether and how their information is shared. In the absence of a valid HIPAA authorization, referrals are provided in a general informational manner, and clients are responsible for contacting referred providers independently.
-
Referral partners operate as independent providers and are not employees, agents, or representatives of Amor Latino Counseling. Amor Latino Counseling does not oversee, supervise, or manage the services provided by referral partners and is not responsible for the outcomes of services rendered outside of its clinical scope.
All clinical decision-making, treatment planning, and documentation remain within the purview of licensed clinicians at Amor Latino Counseling.
Informed Consent & Client Autonomy
Participation in any referred service is entirely voluntary. Declining or discontinuing services with a referral partner will not affect a client’s access to counseling services at Amor Latino Counseling.
Referrals are offered based on client interest, expressed goals, clinical appropriateness, and readiness, and are made without financial incentive, referral fees, or reciprocal arrangements.
-
Amor Latino Counseling maintains professional boundaries to prevent conflicts of interest and ensures referrals align with trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and ethically grounded practices. Referrals are not made during periods of acute crisis when higher levels of care are clinically indicated.
This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure ongoing compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
